American Idol winner Scotty McCreery is both young and talented. His debut album, Clear As Day, made history in its opening week.

Scotty McCreery, who just turned 18 this past Sunday, became the youngest male artist to reach the top of the Billboard charts in his debut release.

“It’s a very good birthday present! I can’t think of anything to top it!”

Clear As Day sold 196,739 units in its first week.

McCreery on his accomplishment, “My hopes were just to go out there and have fun and let people know that the album was out there. Everybody hopes for the number one, but you never really expect it. To see it up there is pretty incredible.”
