Love was in the air last weekend at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland when 100 of the Washington area’s most senior citizens gathered for a one-of-a-kind Valentine celebration. See what happens when a music venue full of Grannies and Grandpas cut a rug at the first annual “Sweetheart Social.”
Sweetheart Social at The Fillmore…Validating the age old notion that love is timeless, a special group of 90-year-olds celebrated cupid’s favorite day a bit early. Of the 100+ attendees, 90% of them were women and most of them were over 85 years. The “Sweetheart Social” will now be an annual event. Most of these party animals came from Charles E. Smith Life Communities in Rockville, MD. The not-for-profit organization has cared for the elderly for more than 100 years.
