In between training sessions for Dancing With The Stars, soul singer Gladys Knight is working on a secret television show.

Gladys has been cast to play the role of the President’s mother in a fictional White House show called The First Family.

Producers for both shows are on board in helping accommodate the Empress of Soul as she juggles a hectic, busy schedule.

Sources tell TMZ that a major network is highly interested in the sitcom and production will have to be rushed to cash in on the Motown legend’s renewed fame.

First Family executive producer Byron Allen said:

“Gladys is truly an American treasure and we’re excited to work with her.”
