Today I take a look a song the Bee Gees were going to sing..
If I Can’t Have You was a huge hit from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Yvonne Elliman[/lastfm], but may not have happened. Written by the Gibb brothers, she was originally slated to do another one of their songs, How Deep Is Your Love. However, Bee Gees manager and executive-producer, Robert Stigwood dictated that the Bee Gees themselves record How Deep Is Your Love with Elliman being given a shot at the disco-style If I Can’t Have You for Saturday Night Fever. In addition it would become the fourth #1 hit from the film, reaching the top spot on the Hot 100 in Billboard.
