Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty to Broadcast Isle of Wight Performances on TV
With two classic rock legends set to headline this year’s Isle of Wight festival in the U.K., VH1 plans to broadcast the best of the headlining performances of both Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, among other bands, with a simulcast this Sunday night.
“Authority Always Wins”: John Mellencamp Covered On “True Blood”
Sunday night, HBO’s vampire series True Blood continued its long tradition of using song titles and lyrics in the titles of episodes. “Authority Always Wins” was named after a line in John Mellencamp’s classic “Authority Song.” (Bill and Eric, two of the show’s main characters, were interrogated by the “Vampire Authority” in the episode, which introduced actor Christopher Meloni’s character, Roman Zimojic.)
