According to Woman’s Day magazine, there are four signs you’re stressed out…
1. EYE TWITCHING: You know, when your eye starts twitching by itself. Stress sometimes causes this to happen. If you’re stressed, try closing your eyes and picture a relaxing place. Chill out for a second.
Even if YOU’RE not stressed out, your EYES might be. If you’ve been staring at a computer screen all day and your eye starts twitching, take a break and look out a window every 20 minutes. Looking at a bigger landscape lets your eyes relax.
2. CAVITIES: When you’re stressed out, you’re more likely to grind your teeth in your sleep, which can erode the enamel and crack your fillings.
If you’ve been stressed out, and your dentist finds more cavities than usual, ask if he thinks you’re grinding your teeth. If it’s bad enough, you might need a mouth guard.
3. A RASH: Stress can cause a rash basically anywhere. But they usually show up on your stomach, back, arms, or face. Experts think it has something to do with your immune system being compromised, but they don’t really know why it happens.
4. FORGETFULNESS: Research shows that non-stop stress can literally shrink your hippocampus, which is the part of the brain responsible for some memories. But it returns to normal when your stress level goes down.
The best way to avoid stress is to get more exercise. Even walking around the block at lunch or taking the stairs helps.
