Matt Dolloff, CBS Radio Boston

On this day in 1990, Aerosmith was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. The band went the unique route of also appearing in one of the episode’s sketches, meeting the famous “Wayne’s World” characters played by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. Re-live the hilarity with the entire skit on video.

As usual with Wayne’s World skits, they also included the host for that episode. In this case the host was Tom Hanks, who played an awkward, goofy-looking roadie.

Once Aerosmith finally stepped in for their appearance, they answered a few questions from Wayne & Garth showing some decent acting ability for musicians. Then the finale everyone expected finally took place: the guys performed the “Wayne’s World” theme song along with Wayne & Garth, officially completing their lives.
