Just two more weeks until Bruce Springsteen officially releases his new album Wrecking Ball! But he’s already begun releasing singles from the album in the weeks leading up to March 6. Today you can stream “Shackled and Drawn” online.
Head over to Rolling Stone for an exclusive stream of “Shackled and Drawn” on their website.
The stream is part of an ongoing release schedule in which the band will release each song on Wrecking Ball one-by-one, in sequence, on a different partner website every day leading up to the release.
Backstreets.com streamed “Easy Money” yesterday, but now the song is no longer available so make sure you check out “Shackled and Drawn” before it’s taken down!
The song shows some of the Irish/Celtic folk influence that Bruce said was a major part of the sound of the album as it’s written and recorded. It of course has the same typical Bruce bombast, with an arena-ready hook that will be hard for us all not to sing along to at shows this year.
“Easy Money” has the same type of bounce to it as well, with plenty of folk instruments layered in. The most striking feature of these new songs so far is Bruce’s lyrics, which are in attack mode in a way rarely seen from the Boss.
Here’s the rest of the streaming schedule, day-by-day. Not sure which lucky websites get all the streams – maybe one of them is us! Stay tuned.
