After The Voice mentors Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera combined to produce the mega-hit “Moves Like Jagger,” fans have been dreaming of a duet with American Idol judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
“It’s not gonna happen” according to J-Lo.

Reality singing competition shows have turned from competitive to borderline cutthroat. American Idol is no longer the only “bully on the block” so to speak.
There’s plenty of other shows waiting in the wings to be the top dog now, which is why American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler felt pressure from the fans to perform a duet of their own after Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera combined for an ultra-successful hit song.
MTV is reporting that no such duet will take place for J-Lo and the Aerosmith frontman.
J-Lo told MTV:
“None of us are kind of followers in that way. We kind of do what feels right, and anybody that’s been in the business a long time knows that you don’t chase.”
“You set the trail. You go out front, and anything that we do is something that feels good to us. If that happened, it would happen. If a performance happened, it would happen. But it would have to feel real. Last year, we talked about performing together on the show for the finale, and we just couldn’t agree on the same thing that felt good for all of us, so we just didn’t do it.”
I guess “giving the people what they want” is an outdated concept.
