MIT Professor Creates Time-Lapse Drive Around 50’s-60’s Boston [VIDEO]

Matt Dolloff, CBS Radio Boston

MIT professor Kevin Lynch attached a small camera to the dashboard of his car back in the late-50’s-early-60’s, and filmed an entire day’s worth of driving around the city of Boston. He has released his footage as a stunning time-lapse video that awesomely captures the city from over half a century ago.

Lynch produced the film as part of his studies into the “theory of city form and human perceptions of the city,” according to the video.

This was filmed in the sixties, not the fifties.

Yes there are definitely some shots from the ’60s but I’m assuming he at least started the project in 1958 since that’s when the MIT site is dating it.
