Director Brett Morgen took hold of the project that will feature never-before-seen footage and countless hours of interviews.
For the first time ever, fans get to re-live the marquee moments of The Rolling Stones’ career through the eyes of the band.
“For anyone who wants to experience the band, this is the film that will defy convention and create a sonic tapestry to transport viewers into the world of the Rolling Stones. The film will deliver the original, bold, sexy and dangerous flavor of the iconic rock band.”
Eagle Rock Entertainment in a press release said:
“The film features remarkable revelations from the world’s most legendary band. This is the first film to ever trace the evolution of the Rolling Stones’ from 1963, making it the ultimate Stones experience. The film will be showcased in September as part of the Rolling Stones 50th anniversary celebrations.”
The documentary, which is currently unnamed, will be issued in September.
In addition to the documentary, a photographic autobiography will be available on July 12, all this to mark the half-century milestone of one of rock and roll’s premiere all-time bands.
Keith Richards still doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about because he claims that next year is their real 50th anniversary (he’s right, by the way).
The Stones’ world tour expected to happen this year will be pushed back until 2013.
This delay is necessary because Keith’s health needs to be restored enough to the point of being able to endure a grueling schedule.
