According to Billboard, it’s projected that MDNA will sell anywhere between 300,000 to 350,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, April 1st.
If these calculations are correct, MDNA will be Madge’s eighth #1 album overall and her fifth straight.
Her 2008 album Hard Candy debuted at #1 with 280,000 copies sold.
Given her recent rise in popularity due to performing at the Super Bowl, it’s being projected that MDNA will crush Hard Candy’s figures.
However, there is 1 album possibly standing in Madonna’s way: Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee.
Billboard releases the charts every Wednesday, so we will know by April 4th.
