Jim Marshall, the man who invented the Marshall Amplifiers used by such greats as Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, passed away yesterday at the age of 88.

His nickname was “The Father Of Loud”, and he had a huge impact on rock music due to the added intensity and power his amplifiers gave instruments. Jim will be sorely missed by music fans and musicians alike for his impact on the world of rock music.
