How well do you know your Red Sox manager? In addition to having played and coached the sport of baseball, not only is “Bobby V” an accomplished ballroom dancer, he also took home nearly EVERY superlative in his high school yearbook!

According to Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe, first year Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine was quite popular in his high school days.

In fact, Bobby V was SO popular that he took home a slew of awards during his senior year in 1968 at Rippowam High in Stamford, Connecticut.

The yearbook superlatives include:

  • Most Optimistic
  • Most Versatile
  • Did Most of ’68
  • Most Cheerful
  • Class Heartbreaker
  • Best All Around
  • Most Likely to Succeed
  • Most Popular
  • Most School Spirit
Some people are lucky enough to win just one superlative in their high school yearbook…not everyone is Bobby V though!
