Opening Day is always a special event in Boston and the Sox start their 100th season at Fenway today! But today is Friday the 13th! Yikes!

Here are some fun facts about the Sox and Friday the 13th:

The Red Sox last opened the season on a Friday the 13th at home in 1984.

They played the Detroit Tigers.

In the first inning, the two teams combined for 13 runs! Ooohh scary!

The Tigers ended up winning the game 13-9! Ooohh scary!

The current Red Sox player wearing number 13 is Carl Crawford. Last year he dropped off in hits, run production, steals and games played! Ooohhhh very scary!
