Matt Dolloff - CBS Local

David Bowie came to Boston on this day in 1978 to support his albums Low and “Heroes” from the previous year.

Amazingly, some very grainy video footage (and in one case, rough audio) has emerged on the web from that very show. Get a glimpse into classic rock history and let us know if you were there.

The following clip of “1984” clearly presents the studio version of the audio of the song, but is combined with video clips from Bowie’s performance. I

t’s unreal to think about how far along video technology has come since, but also incredible to get a visual sense of a classic show at the former Boston Garden.

The next clip of “TVC 15” does sound like it has the actual audio from the show, but that is unconfirmed.

However, the video footage is authentic and a thrill to watch, however rough and grainy it may be.

You could argue the graininess just adds character.
