With the recent passing of Donna Summer still fresh on everyone’s mind, Erika Van Pelt, the 10th place finisher on American Idol, hopes to pay her respects on an upcoming tour to an artist who helped inspire her music career.

This summer’s American Idol Concert Tour¬†will feature the Top 10 finalists of this season’s reality show, and that includes Van Pelt.

Van Pelt has made it clear to the “A.I.” producers that she would like to commemorate the late Queen of Disco in her own special way, since it was Donna Summer who left a lasting impact on Van Pelt’s life — not only musically, but life in general.

Erika opened for Summer last year during a Dallas fundraiser, and believes it was that experience that made it possible for her to land on “Idol” and to advance her career in music.

Van Pelt would like to perform Summer’s classic hit “On The Radio” during the live tour, and is praying that the “Idol” big wigs sign off on it.

We’ll just have to wait and see…
