Duran Duran To Perform At Concert During Olympic Opening Ceremonies

The legendary 80s pop group Duran Duran will be headlining a concert taking place during the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England.

The concert will take place outdoors at Hyde Park and will feature acts from each of the four nations of the United Kingdom, with Duran Duran representing England.

The other acts performing will be Stereophonics from Wales, Paolo Nutini from Scotland and Snow Patrol from Northern Ireland.

The concert takes place on July 27 and will be showing clips from the opening ceremonies in between performances.

Duran Duran is considered to be one of the most successful and influential groups of the 1980s, recording 21 songs that made it to theĀ BillboardĀ Hot 100 and 14 which made it to the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart.

They have sold over 100 million records worldwide.
