It’s the Venus Transit Eclipse. For about two hours today starting at 6:03 until sunset, Venus will pass between Earth and The Sun. It will block out a small circle of light and that shadowing is actually Venus. The spot will travel across the face of the Sun and will be used by astronomers as a device to gauge the actual size of remote Earth like planets.
The experts say that this will help them learn more about our tiny planet based on distance and size.
